Spridd at the Bussines Arena

It's time again for the Business Arena Stockholm Waterfront Congress from the 16th to the 17th of September 2015. We are on site to meet with representatives from the environment industry and above all to participate in seminars and debates on current challenges, trends and future issues that are crucial for the development of Sweden.

Klas Ruin, architect and founder of Spridd, participates in seminar 6 on Wednesday, the 16 of Septemberat 16:00, New perspectives on social sustainability.
Topics to be discussed: How to apply the conclusions from a social impact assessment to the reality? How to avoid preconceptions when renovating a Million program area? What is the experience regarding urban planning as a tool to avoid social segregation?

Ola Broms Wessel, ceo, architect and founder of Spridd, participates in seminar 12 on Thursday, the 17th of September at 11:30, How to keep the city open to all? 
Topics to be discussed: Is it possible to balance the market forces influence with the need for a public place? What can architects and planners do to make the city inclusive? How do the major property owners see their role in making the city accessible to everyone?

We are improving from the inside

Klas Ruin, architect from Spridd speaks at the Södertörn Conference under the theme "We are improving from the inside". The conference focuses on the development of infrastructure and residential areas in relation to goals of social sustainability set in the region of Södertörn.

With the process in focus, Klas Ruin presents Spridds ongoing projects, including the renovation of apartment buildings in Fittja and development of public spaces in several Million Programme areas.

The Södertörn Conference is organized by Salem and Botkyrka Municipality in collaboration with the Multi cultural Centre in Botkyrka. The conference takes place on Subtopia in Botkyrka Thursday, September 10, 2015.

ÄLGÖ KULTURHUS IN THE BOOK 'SVENSKA VILLOR'

Älgö Kulturhus is one out of 24 projects on display in the newly released book Svenska Villor published by Arkitektur Förlag. The book presents the most interesting private houses built in Sweden in between 2010 and 2014. Photos, drawings and descriptions by the architects are giving a unique view on the houses and the thoughts behind.

ALBYBERGET - COMPETITION PROPOSAL

Land allocation competition for the municipality of Botkyrka. Proposal on new housing and enforced picture of the center. The proposal works around a large square. The building system provides rental apartments as economic system, which means economic challenges. The environmental goals are also on high level. The client is Mitt Alby. NEW IMPRINTS - THE FITTJA PAVILJON

During the summer the pavilion in Venice had five teenagers from Botkyrka as visitors. Their mission was to explore, investigate, leave trace and tell stories. Botkyrka konsthall hired them through the project Junior Residence. Read more here. 

The project will be shown at the art biennial Fittja Open opening on the 13 september.

MILJONPROGRAMMETS ROLL I BOSTADSPUSSLET

At Almedalsveckan in Visby, NCC lifts the Fittja People's Palace as an example on how renovation of the million program can ad to a sustainable growth. To renovate the housing of the million program is considered as one out of five important pieces in the "housing puzzle" NCC is presenting during the week. Reed more about the puzzle here. Fittja People's Palace is a partner project between NCC, Spridd och Botkyrkabyggen. 

ARCHITECTURE BIENAL MOSCOW: NORDIC BLOCK

Spridd took part in the exhibition "Nordic Block" at Moscows forth Architecture Biennal 21-25 may 2014. The exhibition asks for tendencies in the nordic building blocks, and Fittja People's Palace was chosen as an example on renovation for development of the architecture of the welfare state. Ylva Frid was presenting the project on site in Moscow.

Curator for the Swedish part of the exhibition "People's Palaces" was Emilia Rosenqvist/Färgfabriken. Nordic Block was produced by Project Baltia magazine.
