In 2021, Spridd won a land allocation in the Skogsvallen district in Linköping for 20 row houses that are currently under construction. We are pleased to announce that our office has been entrusted once again as the architect and developer and has been named the winner in another land allocation competition in the area. This time, it concerns 9 semi-detached houses that will together contribute 18 residences to the new, modern garden city.

The design of the buildings is inspired by the original garden city architecture from the early 1900s, as well as later examples from, for example, Germany. The residences will be constructed as energy-efficient timber buildings.

The municipality's rationale:

"An exciting proposal where color and architectural language evoke sensations of the early 20th-century garden city ideals. At the same time, there is no doubt about the contemporary innovation of the architecture. The expression becomes a new addition to the city's architectural flora. The towering semi-detached houses provide space for many residences and a clear framing of the street, while green spaces are created. The building concept may need refinement, but it provides opportunities for variation and adjustments that can blend gently into the terrain."
